Overview
This is a piece I created during my time studying Graphic Design in college and whilst that may have been some time ago now (scary to think) it's still a piece I am very proud of due to its concept.
Frutiger is known for creating the typefaces such as Univers, Frutiger, and Avenir, just to name the most significant ones. Frutiger described the art of typography as the following:
"Typography must be as beautiful as a forest, not like the concrete jungle of the tenements, it gives distance between the trees, the room to breathe and allow for life."

Approach
Taking the quote from Frutiger and spanning the theme of trees, air to breathe, and wood across the booklet was essential for me.
Subtle hints to Frutiger's life via the colour palette of the cover, red and white hinting towards the Swiss flag.
Throughout the booklet I wanted each major milestone of Frutiger's life to be represented by a new ring within a tree.
